On December 30, 2015, MBK successfully obtained dismissal of a lawsuit brought by a former patient. In Sorensen v. Geisinger Wyoming Valley Med. Cntr., (No. 8813 of 2011) the Court granted MBK’s motion for summary judgment and dismissed the professional liability lawsuit with prejudice. Following depositions and at the conclusion of discovery, plaintiff failed to produce expert support of the claim in violation of Pennsylvania case law and the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Act (MCARE Act) (40 Pa. C. S. A. § 1303.512). Frank J. Brier, Esq., Suzanne Conaboy Scanlon, Esq. and Nicholas F. Kravitz, Esq. obtained dismissal of the lawsuit.
