Patrick A. Casey was recently inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), one of the nation’s most prestigious legal member organizations. Membership in the College is by invitation only following a rigorous investigation into the qualifications of each nominee. The College ultimately selects only those nominees who maintained the highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality.
Founded in 1950, ACTL is comprised of preeminent trial lawyers from the United States and Canada and is widely considered to be the premier professional trial organization in North America. The College strives to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial profession. Qualified lawyers are called to Fellowship in the College from all branches of trial practice. They are carefully selected from among those who customarily represent plaintiffs in civil cases and those who customarily represent defendants, those who prosecute individuals accused of crime and those who defend them. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.
“I am honored to have been inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers,” stated Casey. “It is a group that strongly supports the important hallmarks of our unique judicial system which are: the right to trial by jury, an independent judiciary, and ethical effective advocacy by lawyers.”
Casey represents many licensed professionals and public officials as well as corporations in white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions. His trial experience is vast and diverse. He has handled matters involving tax and financial crimes, health care billing and services, environmental laws and public corruption. In addition to being a fellow of the ACTL, Casey is a board-certified Criminal Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy; he earned an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple Law School; and currently serves as the President of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, which supports 850 criminal defense lawyers and public defenders throughout Pennsylvania.
Casey joins firm partners Daniel T. Brier and William A. Fetterhoff who are also fellows of the College.
Patrick and his wife Nancy reside in Archbald, Pennsylvania, and are the parents of five children and grandparents of six grandchildren.
