Timothy Gates has been awarded the Unsung Heroes Award for 2022 by The Legal Intelligencer. Tim, who recently joined Myers, Brier & Kelly as Counsel in our Harrisburg office, was honored for his tireless and critical work as Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvania Department of State during the highly contested 2020 Presidential election cycle.

As Chief Counsel, Tim managed the many challenges to Pennsylvania’s elections systems and legislation that put our Commonwealth in the national and international spotlight. In a year and a half, 37 elections-related cases were filed and litigated in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. Tim’s steady leadership was crucial to protecting the right of Pennsylvanians to vote, and to have their vote counted. We are proud and fortunate to have Tim on the MBK team!
