Solar-development projects in the Commonwealth face fierce opposition when seeking zoning and land use approvals. MBK attorneys, Neal M. Thatcher and Nicholas F. Kravitz, recently successfully represented a public company in seeking the necessary conditional use approvals on two (2) solar-development projects.
MBK assisted the client with all aspects of the projects, including the initial design phase; ordinance review and interpretation; drafting and submitting conditional use applications and related supplements; preparing and presenting in-person fact and expert witness testimony at public hearings; and post-hearing submission of proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law. In both instances, MBK’s strategic oversight, guidance, and representation resulted in conditional use approvals from different local governing bodies in the face of vigorous opposition.
Energy plays a crucial role in all of our lives and in the world’s economy. MBK supports the critical social, technological, and economic benefits derived from an active and properly regulated energy sector.
MBK is honored to routinely advise and represent energy companies. MBK can help energy companies anticipate and navigate the inevitable and complex zoning and land use challenges that solar developers encounter so that proposed projects become approved realities.
